A nod to nostalgic luxury

Managed by Geneva-based Kempinski Hotels, Olare Mara Kempinski boasts a direct connection to the local heritage, with nearly half of the staff comprising Maasai locals, dressed in traditional attire, enriching your stay with authentic cultural insights. The style of Olare Mara Kempinski is a sophisticated homage to the golden era of safari adventures. The camp decor integrates contemporary and traditional regional art, textiles, and artifacts, capturing the essence of an Edwardian safari. The luxurious setup includes 12 spacious tents built on raised wooden platforms, each offering private balconies with panoramic views of the surrounding savannah or river. The ambiance is designed to transport guests back in time, while providing all the comforts expected from a premium Kempinski property.

The tents at Olare Mara Kempinski are a lavish affair, each sprawling over 80 square meters (861 square feet). Styled with an elegant blend of traditional safari aesthetics and modern luxury, they feature king-sized beds, plush seating areas, and expansive wrap-around veranda decks. The interiors are equipped with high-end amenities such as oversized bathtubs and separate showers, desks, and lounge areas, ensuring comfort amidst the wild. The pièce de résistance is the Honeymoon Suite, which extends over 100 square meters (1076 square feet) and includes a private plunge pool overlooking the wilderness — a perfect sanctuary for romance and relaxation.

The design details extend beyond mere aesthetics, each tent embodies the spirit of safari with teak decks, terraces, and a separate lounge, offering guests a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor living. Moreover, dining experiences are elevated with options ranging from in-tent service to immersive bush meals, ensuring every moment is as spectacular as the scenery.

Tripadvisor comments Olare Mara Kempinski

The hotel and the hotel staff are the kindest most professional staff. The environment was so lovely. The food is exquisite. The rooms were so pretty and spacious. The tours by Alex and Caleb were life changing. They made miracles happen and dreams come true!

Our game drives were with Alex, who is a seriously incredible driver, knowledgeable guide, and a wonderful person! With so many days there, we got to have some great conversations and learn a lot while out on the game drives. He is passionate, well informed, funny and so pleasant to hang out with! He got us amazing views of everything we saw and our pictures were really amazing because of it!
